How does CTA determine what schools have additional bus service?

Additional bus service is provided when there is insufficient capacity on regular bus service at the time of school arrivals or dismissals. The scheduled frequency of bus service is regulated by the CTA’s Service Standards, which incorporates resource availability and passenger demand, verified by periodic field observations.

Does CTA provide extra bus service for after school events?

CTA does not normally provide extra bus service for events outside of regular school hours such as homecoming or sporting events. In most cases, the regular service for routes operating near the school have enough capacity to accommodate passengers boarding at the end of events.
